Bike Theft Leads To Bigger Arrest In Woodbridge: Police

A bicycle theft last week led to the arrest of a man wanted for the armed robbery of a Walmart last month: Prince William County Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA—A bicycle theft last week led to the arrest of a man wanted for the armed robbery of a Walmart last month, according to Prince William County Police. Joshua Anthony Haas, 20, of the 2400 block of Battery Hill Circle in Woodbridge, was charged with burglary, armed robbery, grand larceny, obstruction of justice and destruction of property.

Shortly after noon last Thursday, police responded to a residence in the 16000 block of Kings Mountain Road for a reported burglary. Haas had taken the bike from an open garage but was found in the area shortly thereafter. That's when he was recognized and connected to the robbery in Walmart at 17041 Jefferson Davis Highway in Dumfries.

In that one, on March 3, police responded to the store around 2:30 p.m.for a reported robbery. An employee said a man was completing a transaction at the cash register when he whipped out a gun and demanded money. He took an undisclosed amount before fleeing on foot.
