WOODBRIDGE, VA — A burglar broke into the Target on Prince William Parkway in Woodbridge on Thursday morning, police said. The suspect is still at large.

Police officers responded to the scene around 1:20 a.m. on Thursday morning, according to the police report. Store employees told officers that they had heard a loud noise.

When the employees investigated the store, they noticed that a lobby window was damaged, according to the police report. Later, they saw an unknown walking out of the hole in the window while carrying electronics, police said.

Officers determined that the man used a rock to smash the window and enter the store. Once inside, he smashed a glass display case and walked out with the items.

A police K-9 responded to the scene, but they were unable to find the burglar.

During their investigation, officers learned the suspect originally tried to enter the store through a back door, but he was unsuccessful. The man damaged the door in the process, police said.

Authorities said they have video surveillance and are working to identify the suspect.

Police described the burglar as a Hispanic man who is about 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a thin build. At the time of the burglary, he was wearing a baseball cap, a purple shirt with a black hooded sweatshirt underneath, black pants, and black shoes.
