DUMFRIES, VA — Two men were arrested in Dumfries on Tuesday after they were accused of breaking into a home, police said. One of the men was also charged with the June burglaries of two local businesses.

Police received a report of a burglary in the 3500 block of Briarwood Drive in Dumfries at 12:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 5. A resident in the area called police after a motion light activated as a man attempted to enter an unoccupied car, according to the police report.

Officers determined that two men entered a home through a window, which was later found damaged. Once they were inside, the men began removing items and taking them to their vehicle, which was parked nearby, according to authorities.
