Once the pair got to the parking lot, Anwari pulled out a screwdriver and threatened the victim, police said. He then hit the victim and demanded the car.

The victim got out of the car, and Anwari drove away, according to the police report.

During their investigation, police officers saw Anwari driving the victim's vehicle on Dumfries Road. The officers tried to pull him over, but Anwari refused to stop, authorities said.

Officers chased Anwari until they stopped him by using a tire deflation device near Hoadly Road and Dumfries Road. Anwari tried to run away, but the officers caught up to him and took him into custody, the police department said.
