Chesterbrook Academy Students in Woodbridge Hold Ladybug Release

Students recognized Earth Day by releasing 5,000 ladybugs in their schoolyard to help local vegetation

Students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Woodbridge have caught the environmental bug! On April 26, students celebrated Earth Day and taking care of the planet by releasing 5,000 ladybugs throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees. In addition to the ladybug release, students planted flowers in the school’s garden.

Leading up to Earth Day, students learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees and shrubs. Chesterbrook Academy Preschool teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
