Dozens Displaced, Several Injured In Early Morning Woodbridge Apartment Fire
The cause of the fire hasn't yet been determined.
WOODBRIDGE, VA – Twenty-five people were displaced and several injured in an early morning apartment fire in Woodbridge on Wednesday.
According to Prince William Professional Firefighters, units from 2 of their battalions were joined by Fairfax County Fire and Rescue in fighting the 2-alarm fire in an apartment building on the 12000 block of Ripple Creek Court.
Upon arriving, the unit found fire showing from the rear of the building. Prince William County Police officers helped alert residents to the danger and removed several occupants as more firefighters arrived. The fire ultimately affected multiple apartments. Prince William Professional Firefighters say occupants were injured in the fire and taken to local burn centers and hospitals, but didn’t say how many were injured. They also say several cats were rescued.

Inside Nova identified the location as the Rolling Brook Village Apartments and the time of the blaze as shortly after 2 a.m.
The fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.

In a press release, the Red Cross of the National Capital & Greater Chesapeake Region said it was assisting roughly 25 residents after the fire, and that their trained disaster response volunteers were at the location providing drinking water, snacks, blankets and comfort kits as well as providing other replacement and recovery support.
