D.C. Man Convicted For 2022 Murder In Dumfries: Prosecutors
A jury found Devlon Crew-Hamilton guilty for the 2022 murder of his ex-girlfriend's father in Dumfries, authorities said.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — A jury convicted Devlon Crew-Hamilton for the 2022 murder of Mile Tracey Hall on Wednesday, the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney announced.
Prosecutors said Crew-Hamilton fatally shot Hall on May 15, 2022 during an argument over missing funds.
Crew-Hamilton is scheduled to be sentenced on March 28, 2024. Based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines, he could face up to 43 years in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines.

"Investigation revealed that Mr. Crew-Hamilton had gone to the residence that evening to confront Mr. Hall over missing funds raised for a funeral and childcare for Mr. Hall’s daughter, who Mr. Crew-Hamilton had been dating prior to her recent death," the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney said. "Other family members believed Mr. Hall was keeping the money for himself, rather than using it for its intended purpose."
During the confrontation, Crew-Hamilton pulled out a gun and shot Hall in the face, according to authorities. Crew-Hamilton later told detectives that he shot Hall, according to court records.

"In this case, we sought justice for Miles Tracey Hall," Ashworth said in a news release on Wednesday. "Today, the jury has delivered a verdict that speaks to the strength of our legal system and the dedication of those who tirelessly pursued the truth. Justice has been served, and we hope it serves as a reminder that no one is above the law."
