Dale City Couple Arrested for Robbery, Child Neglect

Prince William County police: Arrests made after one suspect left his wallet at the scene of the crime.

A teenage couple from Dale City is facing felony charges for allegedly attempting to rob a Woodbridge man on Sunday afternoon and leaving their 4-month-old daughter at home unattended.

Prince William County police on Sunday arrested Keavon Teddrick Coleman, 18, and Kenya Dorita Johnson, 19, both of 4397 Ensbrook Lane, at their home on one count each of robbery, conspiracy to commit a felony and felony child neglect, according to a police report. They’re scheduled to appear in court on May 12; bond information was unavalable.

Police also arrested a third suspect at the residence, a 17-year-old female juvenile. She has been charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony, and her next date in court is pending.

The police said they tracked down the three suspects after Coleman dropped his wallet at the scene of the crime, a few blocks away. They also found the 4-month-old girl in the residence; she was unharmed.

The police responded at 1:55 p.m. Sunday to the report of the robbery in the area of Emberdale Drive and Elliot Court in Dale City.

The victim, a 28-year-old Woodbridge man, told police he was approached by two unknown women who asked for a ride to the above area. Once there, an unknown man approached the victim at his vehicle and began to assault him.

During the assault, the male suspect placed an object to the victim’s back, which he believed to be a knife, and demanded money. A struggle ensued before the suspects took the victim’s money and cell phone and fled the area. Minor injuries were reported.
