Police Nab Suspect in Daylight Robbery

Prince William County police on Wednesday arrested a man suspected of committing a daylight robbery near a Woodbridge commuter lot.

Laron Rasheed Thomas (in photo), 22, of no fixed address, is being held without bond at the Prince William-Manassas Regional Jail in Manassas, according to a police report. His next date in court is on May 18.
Thomas has been charged with the strong-armed robbery that occurred Monday afternoon in the 14700 block of Potomac Mills Road, police said, near the headquarters of the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission.

The victim, a 31-year-old man of no fixed address, told police that he was approached by Thomas, who asked him for money. As the victim reached for his wallet, Thomas allegedly assaulted him and forcibly took the wallet from his hands.
Thomas fled the scene on foot but dropped the wallet, police said. The victim told police that money inside was missing, and that he sustained minor injuries.
On Wednesday, members of the police force’s Bike Team located Thomas, according to the police report. He was arrested without incident at a relative’s residence on Beale Court in Woodbridge.
