Deadline Wednesday for Prince William County Human Rights Awards Nominations
Awards are given annually to individuals, non-profit organizations and businesses for accomplishments toward human rights.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Wednesday is the deadline to submit nominations for Prince William County's Human Rights Awards, which the county's Human Rights Commission give annually to individuals, non-profit organizations and businesses for accomplishments toward human rights.
Candidates must be Prince William County residents.
Nominations can be faxed to 703-792-6944 or delivered to the Human Rights Commission, 15941 Donald Curtis Drive, Suite 125.

The commission says the awards honor contributions to the "equality for all people in Prince William County, demonstrated by leadership and excellence in any field.
Recipients of the award will be honored at the annual observance of Universal Human Rights Day, 9 a.m., Jan. 14, 2016 at the Dr. A.J. Ferlazzo Building, 15941 Donald Curtis Drive in Woodbridge.

The mandate of the Human Rights Commission is to eliminate discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, marital status, age, or disability in the areas of employment, housing, public accommodations, education and credit.
