Delta’s Annual Red Carpet Event Unveils Local Talent

Prince William County Alumnae Chapter Proves Prince William’s Got Talent

The members of the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority (PWCAC DST), Incorporated will once again roll out the red carpet for local talent. This annual Red Carpet Showcase will take place at Woodbridge Middle School, 2201 York Drive in Woodbridge on Saturday, December 2, from noon to 3 p.m. Each year, this free program is provided for the community to encourage literacy and provide exposure to the performing and creative arts. It is also an opportunity to highlight emerging talent.

This program, which is in its eighth year, includes a meet and greet reception. Guests can enjoy light refreshments, meet and talk with the seven showcase artists and perhaps buy a few stocking stuffers for the holidays.

The talented seven include three Prince William County, VA residents: Clarence T. Brown, III, a senior at Colgan High and talented musician; Carol Ray, Ph.D, author of Ph.D.’s Have Bipolar Too, an autobiography; Sandra Manigault an author of adult fiction book Vanessa: A Love Story. Other showcase talent include: Jordan Jennings, a violinist that attends Duke Ellington School for the Arts and his violin teacher, Bliss Ananda. Ananda lives in Washington, D.C. and Jordan lives in Montgomery County, Maryland. Adult fiction author Keesya Hill-Jones of Williamsburg, VA will share her book, The Protector. Richmond, VA resident Charlene Warner Coleman, author of Mothers to Daughters Cookbook and Eric M. Twiggs, author of The Discipline of Now: 12 Practical Principles to Overcome Procrastination will also participate. Twiggs lives in Prince George’s County, MD.

The Red Carpet Showcase will also include members of PWCAC-DST mentoring programs, Delta Academy for middle school aged girls and Delta G.E.M.S. for high school age girls. A student from the Woodbridge High School performing arts program will also participate.
