Woodbridge Bank Robbery Suspect Was Identified Using Forensic Evidence: Police
A Dumfries man was arrested on Thursday and charged in connection with a bank robbery at the Truist Bank in Woodbridge.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a bank robbery that occurred in Woodbridge earlier this month. The man, a 27-year-old from Dumfries, was charged and arrested on Thursday.
Police identified the man as David Emanuel Andrews. Andrews is charged with one count of robbery. His court date is pending and his bond is listed as unavailable.
If convicted, Andrews could face up to 10 years in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines.

On Friday, investigators said they were able to identify Andrews as a suspect by using forensic evidence they found at the scene. They obtained an arrest warrant for him and took him into custody without incident.
Police officials said they also executed a search warrant at Andrews's home and collected more evidence.

The robbery occurred just after 9 a.m. on Feb. 9 at the Truist Bank on River Ridge Boulevard in Woodbridge. Investigators said a man walked into the bank and passed the teller a note demanding money.
The teller complied and the robber took the cash and ran out of the bank toward Richmond Highway, according to the police report. A helicopter and a police K-9 searched for the robber, but they did not find him.
