One man died and another was injured in a shooting in Dumfries on Friday, police said. Authorities are still looking for the shooter.
DUMFRIES, VA — One man died and another was injured in a shooting in Dumfries on Friday morning, the Prince William County Police Department said. Authorities are still looking for the shooter.
The police department has not publicly identified either of the victims by name or age. Both victims were taken to area hospitals, where one died of his injuries.
The other victim is still hospitalized. "His condition is currently unknown," the police department said.

Authorities have not provided any identifying information about the suspect. Investigators believe the shooter knew both victims and has left the area.
The shooting occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Friday at a home in the 1900 block of Fort Monroe Court in Dumfries. When police officers arrived, they found the two victims suffering from gunshot wounds, according to the police report. The shooter had already left the area.

" Preliminarily, this incident does not appear to be random," the police department said in a report. "Detectives are actively investigating the incident to determine what led up to the shooting."
