Fatal Triangle Shooting Leads To Charges For Fredericksburg Man: Cops
Authorities are looking for a Fredericksburg man who is charged with murder after a fatal shooting in Prince William County on Tuesday.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — A Fredericksburg man is wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Triangle on Tuesday, the Prince William County Police Department said.
Authorities identified the victim as 26-year-old Quatrail Raynard Smalls of Big Stone Gap. He died at an area hospital after the shooting.
On Thursday, investigators identified 27-year-old Tyus James Terrell as a suspect in the shooting. Terrell, a Fredericksburg resident, is charged with murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Authorities said he is a Black man who is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes, and a tattoo on his chest.
The shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the 3700 block of Wharf Lane in Triangle. Residents in the area said they heard the gunshots that struck the victim. When police officers arrived, they found the victim lying on the ground, the police report said.

Officers said they provided first aid until the victim was taken to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Investigators noted that gunshots also struck the nearby Linden Park Apartment Complex. Officers found cartridge casings in the street on Wharf Lane.
During their investigation, detectives reported that they executed search warrants in Spotsylvania County, but they have been unable to locate Terrell. The police department believes that Terrell and Smalls knew each other, and the shooting was not random.
