Fiery Crash Leaves Driver Dead In Woodbridge On Saturday: Police

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A Woodbridge man died in a fiery single-car crash off of Smoketown Road on Saturday, the Prince William County Police Department said.

Authorities identified the man as 36-year-old Justin Whitfield Brandon. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

Crash investigators learned of the incident around 2:45 a.m. on Saturday morning. The crash occurred off of Smoketown Road near Veronica Lane.

Investigators believe Brandon was speeding on southbound Smoketown Road when he lost control of his 2014 Nissan Altima. The car crossed into the northbound lanes, left the road, hit multiple trees, and caught fire, authorities said.

Brandon was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the police report. First responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

Authorities believe that speed was a factor in the crash.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. No other injuries were reported.
