Authorities say the officer involved was not injured, and the suspect is being held without bond while awaiting a court date.

I-95 Lane Closures Planned In Woodbridge: VDOT (patch.com) — Drivers in Woodbridge should plan for overnight lane closures on southbound I-95 as crews shift traffic onto a new bridge section near the Route 123 interchange. The long-term traffic pattern will support major interchange upgrades, including wider ramps and a new shared-use path, with work continuing through 2028.

Woodbridge Man Admits Secretly Recording Children For Years, Prosecutors Say (patch.com) — Woodbridge residents are learning that a former federal employee from their community has admitted to secretly recording children in his home bathroom for years and possessing thousands of child sexual abuse files. The 54-year-old Woodbridge man pleaded guilty to federal charges and now faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison when he is sentenced in December.

Police Blotter: Park Death, Teacher Arrested at School (potomaclocal.com) — Police say a teen has been arrested after a burglary at Tobacco King on Minnieville Road in Woodbridge, where several suspects smashed a window and stole vape products before fleeing in a stolen vehicle. The daily blotter also details a death in Prince William Forest Park, a Manassas sexual assault arrest, a Manassas Park teacher's intoxication charge, and Stafford incidents.

Men's Track & Field Signs 12 for 2026-27 Season (floridagators.com) — Woodbridge hurdler Joshua‑Kai Smith, a Gar‑Field High standout, has signed with the University of Florida after winning seven Virginia state titles and setting the state 110‑meter hurdles record. His resume includes breaking Grant Holloway's meet record twice and winning national indoor hurdles titles, putting a local athlete on a major collegiate track stage.
