Flash Flood Watch in Woodbridge Tuesday
Severe thunderstorms are possible in the region, with damaging winds and large hail, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch from 2 p.m. Tuesday until 2 am. Wednesday for the region, including Woodbridge.
“Scattered to numerous thunderstorms will develop late today and into tonight,” according to the NWS. “These storms will be slow moving and capable of producing heavy rainfall.”

Rainfall of 1 to 2 inches will be possible in an hour on ground that is already saturated.
“Small streams and urban areas will be especially susceptible to rapid rises of water onto normally dry areas,” according to the NWS.

The NWS also issued a hazardous weather outlook for Northern Virginia on Tuesday, warning that severe thunderstorms “will be possible” in the area and that they could bring damaging wind gusts and large hail with them.
