Fresh off of victories over Osbourn Park and Forest Park this past weekend, Gar-Field was set to take on cross-town rival Woodbridge Tuesday night.
Woodbridge is in the midst of a six-game losing streak, but was hoping to end it for Senior Night. Four seniors on the Vikings squad were playing their last home game for Woodbridge including Tom Maksanty, Gabe Obenwa, Barba Kargbo and starting quarterback Corey Taylor.
The tone was set early by the Indians as they set up their big man Raheem Johnson in the post for some easy buckets. Meanwhile for the Vikings, bad shots and turnovers put them in a hole to end the first quarter, losing 8-16.

Raheed Johnson had a game-high six rebounds while also adding in 12 points of his own. The difference in the game might have been assists. Gar-Field finished the game with 22 assists, while the Vikings only had two the whole game. Woodbridge was content with isolation and clear out plays, everyone looking to get their own shot. Meanwhile for the Indians, Justin Pittman had 6 assists by himself, and Zach Fong had 4.
As for the Vikings, they were led on offense by senior Barba Kargbo, who finished with 13 points and a team-high 5 rebounds. Gabe Obenwa, another Senior, finished with six points as did Kenny McKnight off the bench. No other Viking had more than five points. Add it all up and it was a 70-42 victory for the Gar-Field Indians.
Woodbridge looks to end the season on high note when they play at Osbourn Park this coming Friday. Gar-Field looks to continue their late-season dominance when they face off against the 14-4 Hylton Bulldogs at home on Friday as well.
