Gunfight In Dale City Leaves 1 Injured: Police
A man returned fire after he was shot outside of a home in Dale City on Monday night, the Prince William County Police Department said.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A man returned fire after being shot outside a home in Dale City on Monday night, the Prince William County Police Department said.
The victim, a 39-year-old man, received treatment at an area hospital after the shooting. His injuries were not life-threatening, police officials said.
Authorities have not publicly identified any suspects in the shooting. Investigators said the shooter was a man inside a white Kia Soul.

The shooting occurred around 7 p.m. on Monday in the 14500 block of Earlham Court. In a report, the police department said the victim was talking to people who were in a white Kia Soul. The victim knew the driver of the Kia from a previous relationship.
An argument broke out and a man in the car fired several gunshots at the victim, hitting him in the leg, the police report said. The victim retreated to the nearby home and fired back with his own gun.

"This incident was not random," the police department said. "Detectives are actively following-up on leads regarding the identity of the shooter."
