Gunman Sought In Dumfries: Police

Authorities are looking for someone who shot a man Thursday afternoon in Dumfries, leaving him hospitalized: Prince William County Police.

DUMFRIES, VA—Authorities are looking for someone who shot a man Thursday afternoon in the area of Williamstown Drive and Old Triangle Road, according to Prince William County Police. The 24-year-old victim was shot once in the chest and flown to an area hospital with serious injuries not considered life threatening.

Police arrived in area shortly after 12:30 p.m. for a reported shooting, and found the victim on Fort Donelson Court. Officers scoured the area in search of the shooter to no avail. According to police, the incident "does not appear to be random." Anyone with information is urged to call police at 703-792-6500.
