Rozia Henson has declared victory in the race to represent the Democratic Party in the House of Delegates 19th district.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Rozia Henson declared victory on Wednesday morning in the race to represent the Democratic Party in the House of Delegates 19th district. Henson's opponents, Makya Little and Natalie Shorter, conceded on Wednesday.
Henson will now run uncontested in the general election in November. The Republican Party has not filed any candidates for the race.
"I am so proud to be the Democratic nominee for Delegate in House District 19," Henson said on Twitter. "This was an incredibly hard-fought race with thousands of doors knocked, thousands of calls made, and countless conversations with neighbors — and we earned this victory together."

"I entered this race in January, and I have been blown away by the support every step of the way," Shorter said. "Unfortunately, the results were not in our favor."
Shorter noted her belief in Henson, saying he would be a "strong advocate" in Richmond.
"Thank you to every single one of my supporters and stakeholders, and especially my family for their support of my candidacy and this crazy journey," Shorter wrote. "This isn't the end of this story."
