Man Bit Officer, Attempted To Pull Gun From Holster, Police Claim
A Woodbridge man was arrested after he was accused of hitting and biting an officer after trying to pull an officer's gun from its holster.
WOODBRIDGE, VA — Police arrested a Woodbridge man on Tuesday after officers said he tried to take a gun from their holster before striking and biting an officer, according to the Prince William County Police Department.
The officer reported minor injuries after the assault, according to the police report. Another man who intervened also suffered minor injuries.
Authorities identified the suspect who bit the officer as Selven Corrales Alvarado, a 28-year-old man from Woodbridge.

Corrales Alvarado is charged with attempted disarming of a LEO, malicious wounding of LEO, domestic assault & battery, and destruction of property. He is being held without bond at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center.
The incident began around 10 p.m. on Thursday at a home in the 15100 block of Alaska Road in Woodbridge, police said. The original caller reported a burglary.

When they arrived, officers found three men standing outside of the home. The officers determined that one of the men was responsible for destroying items in the home, according to the police report. After an investigation, officers also believed that the same man assaulted a family member after an argument.
When officers tried to detain the man suspected of destroying the property, he refused to listen to commands and headbutted an officer, the police department claimed. The suspect then tried to grab the gun from an officer's holster before striking and biting an office, police said.
The man was eventually taken into custody. An ambulance took him to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation.
