Man Charged With Filming Children In Woodbridge Bathroom: Police
A man is charged with planting a camera in a home and recording a bathroom used by three girls aged 7 to 13, according to authorities.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A man from Woodbridge was charged with unlawful filming after he was accused of planting a camera in a bathroom that was primarily used by three underaged girls, according to the Prince William County Police Department. Police identified the man as Josue Daniel Benavides Bermudez.
On Saturday, Aug. 21, officers received a report of an unlawful filming incident at a home in the 4300 block of Granby Road in Woodbridge. Officers responded to the scene around 7:15 p.m. on Saturday to investigate, authorities said.

The homeowner told police that they found a camera in one of their bathrooms, according to the police report. The bathroom was primarily used by three female victims, who police identified as a 7-year-old, a 10-year-old, and a 13-year-old.
Detectives with the police department's Special Victims Unit then took over the case. Detectives determined that the camera was placed by Benavides Bermudez, an acquaintance who was also living in the home.

Benavides Bermudez was originally charged with three counts of unlawful filming. While they were executing a search warrant of the home, officers claimed that they found a gun and "suspected illegal narcotics," in his possession. He was charged accordingly with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled substance.
Benavides Bermudez was arrested, and he is now being held without bond. His court date is pending.
Elsewhere in Prince William County on Saturday, another man was arrested after he was accused of inappropriately touching a 10-year-old girl. The man, who police identified as Eric Donovan Scott, was charged with four counts of aggravated sexual battery.
Police claimed that Scott assaulted the child several times this summer, between June 9 and Aug. 14. Scott is being held without bond and his court date is pending.
