Man Charged With Sexual Assault Of A Child In Woodbridge: Police
The Prince William County Police Department charged a man with sexually assaulting a child in Woodbridge in 2013.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl in Woodbridge in 2013. The suspect, Erick Oppong, was served warrants at the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center, where he was being held on unrelated charges.
In December 2020, the victim told family members she had been sexually assaulted, according to authorities. The family contacted the Prince William County Police Department, which began an investigation.
Detectives from the Special Victims Unit determined a sexual assault occurred sometime between Aug. 15, 2013, and Oct. 31, 2013. The victim was between 5 and 6 years old at this time, and she was being cared for by a family acquaintance, according to police.

Another resident of the acquaintance's home sexually assaulted the girl during the timeframe. Police identified Oppong as the man who assaulted the child.
Oppong was charged with indecent liberties and forcible sodomy. He is being held without bond at the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center. His court date is pending.
