Man Fatally Shot In Triangle Neighborhood: Police

A 26-year-old man died after being shot in Triangle on Tuesday night, the Prince William County Police Department said.

TRIANGLE, VA — A 26-year-old man was fatally shot in Triangle on Tuesday night, the Prince William County Police Department said.

Authorities identified the man as Quatrail Raynard Smalls from Big Stone Gap, Virginia.

The police department has not announced any charges or identified any suspects in connection with the shooting. No suspect description was available on Wednesday.

The shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the 3700 block of Wharf Lane in Triangle. Residents in the area said they heard the gunshots that struck the victim. When police officers arrived, they found the victim lying on the ground, the police report said.

Officers said they provided first aid until the victim was taken to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Investigators said gunshots also struck the nearby Linden Park Apartment Complex. Officers found cartridge casings in the street on Wharf Lane.

Authorities said more information would be released as it becomes available. Detectives are looking to speak with anyone who may have more information about the shooting.
