DUMFRIES, VA — Prince William County police are searching for a 23-year-old man who allegedly fled officers, ran into a detective's car and left a 3-year-old alone in a Dumfries hotel room. According to a police report, detectives are looking for Tyree Rashad Henderson in connection with the Oct. 8 incident.
According to the report, detectives from the Special Investigations Bureau were in the 16900 block of Old Stage Rd. when they spotted a suspicious vehicle in a nearby parking lot. Detectives approached the vehicle and identified themselves as police to the driver, the report said, but at that point, the driver — later identified as Henderson — disregarded the detective’s commands and tried to flee, hitting a detective’s vehicle in the process.
Detectives eventually located the Henderson's vehicle unoccupied. Following investigation, detectives also learned Henderson allegedly left a 3-year-old boy alone in a nearby hotel. Detectives found the child, who is not related to the suspect, unharmed and he was later returned to his mother.

Warrants were obtained for Henderson's arrest on charges of felony child neglect, felony hit and run, felony eluding, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license. Henderson is described as six-feet two-inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes.
