Man Stabbed To Death By Acquaintance In Woodbridge: Police

A 33-year-old Maryland man was killed and a 24-year-old Woodbridge man is charged with murder, police said.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A 33-year-old Maryland man was stabbed over the weekend by an acquaintance in Woodbridge, according to police.

Brentwood resident Jesser Edwardo Marroquin Cordon died following the attack, and 24-year-old Heriberto Valdez, of the 2000 block of York Drive in Woodbridge, is charged in the killing, police said.

Officers responded around 10:30 p.m. Saturday to a home in the 800 block of Fulton Place and learned the men were involved in an altercation, during which Valdez stabbed Cordon and chased him to the backyard, where Cordon collapsed, according to police.

Cordon was pronounced dead at the scene and Valdez was detained without incident and charged with murder and using a weapon to commit a felony, police said.
