Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries From Shooting: Police
A 33-year-old man was assaulted and then shot in the upper body early Thursday morning after multiple masked men approached him.
WOODBRIDGE, VA — A 33-year-old man was assaulted and then shot in the upper body early Thursday morning after multiple masked men approached him and an acquaintance in the 4700 block of Pearson Drive in Woodbridge, according to the Prince William County Police Department. Responding police officers provided immediate first aid to the victim until fire and rescue personnel arrived and the victim was flown to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Prince William police officers responded to a call about shots fired at 1:43 a.m. on Dec. 19. When the officers arrived, they saw the victim in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound and assault wounds.
During their investigation, the police learned that the victim and the acquaintance had just returned to Woodbridge after being at the MGM Grand Casino in Oxon Hill, Maryland. As they exited the car, they were approached by multiple masked men who had just pulled into a driveway behind them.

Along with shooting and assaulting the victim, the suspects took an undisclosed amount of money and a cell phone from him. The suspects fled the scene in a dark colored SUV prior to the police arriving at the scene. At this time, no suspect information is available, the police department said.
