Manassas Teen Threatened To Shoot Potomac High School: Police
A 17-year-old boy from Manassas was arrested on Wednesday after authorities said he threatened to shoot Potomac High School in August.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — A Manassas teen was arrested on Wednesday after authorities said he threatened to shoot Potomac High School in August.
The Prince William County Police Department only identified the suspect as a 17-year-old boy. He is charged with one count of threats to bomb or damage a building. His court date is pending and he is being held at the Prince William County Juvenile Detention Center.
The police department as not publicly named the suspect due to a Virginia law that protects the identities of minors.

The threat was made over the phone around 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 31. In the initial report, the police department said the caller threatened to shoot the school. Police officers monitored the school, but they did not find any threats.
Police officers found the suspect in Woodbridge on Wednesday and took him into custody, the police department said. Authorities reported that there was never a credible or active threat to the school, students, or staff members.
