WOODBRIDGE, VA — Two people were arrested Friday on various gun and drug charges after a mistakenly fired gun drew the attention of authorities in the 13500 block of Cridercrest Place, according to Prince William County Police. Charged were [Name Withheld], 32, of Lorton, and Iris Nicole Dorsey, 35, of the 13500 block of Cridercrest Place.

Shortly before 8 a.m., police went to an apartment for an odd destruction of property complaint. Seems the resident had found a bullet lodged in a kitchen cabinet. Police determined it had come from the apartment above, and they went to that residence to speak to the person who lived there.

After several unsuccessful attempts to contact the resident, police entered the residence for a welfare check and found two people inside. They also noticed a strong odor of marijuana. Police found that the previous day, sometime between 1:30-5:30 p.m., Dorsey mishandled a handgun and accidentally fired a round into the floor.

While checking the residence, police found marijuana, cocaine, a handgun, a large amount of money and drug paraphernalia. [Name Withheld] was charged with possession with intent to distribute a schedule I or II narcotic, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a schedule I or II narcotic, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.

Dorsey was charged with reckless handling of a firearm, possession with intent to distribute a schedule I or II narcotic, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm with a controlled narcotic.
