Pediatrician Accused Of Sexually Assaulting 2 Child Patients

A physician who worked at Potomac Pediatrics on Opitz Blvd was accused of sexually assaulting 2 patients between 1992 and 2020, police said.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A Woodbridge physician was arrested on Monday and charged with sexually assaulting two of his patients, one of whom was a toddler when the abuse began, according to the Prince William County Police Department.

The physician, Leonard Lee Touchette, worked at Potomac Pediatrics, P.C. on Opitz Boulevard.

In November 2020, detectives with the Special Victims Unit began investigating a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at Potomac Pediatrics between October 2014 and November 2020. Authorities identified the victim as a patient who was between 11 and 17 years old during the reported assaults.

Detectives said the girl was sexually assaulted by her physician on multiple occasions from 2014 to 2020. In a police report, authorities said that the victim was Touchette's patient.

During the investigation, police identified a second victim, who was also a girl at the time of the assaults. She told police that Touchette assaulted her multiple times from 1992 to 1998. The second victim was between 2 and 8 years old at the time, police said.

Touchette is charged with two counts of object sexual penetration and two counts of aggravated sexual battery. His court date is pending.
