Police: Lorton Woman Used Pepper Spray in Stealing Cell Phone

She's wanted for assault and battery, other charges, say Prince William County police.

Police are looking for a Lorton woman who allegedly assaulted a Woodbridge woman with pepper spray Thursday night and stole her cell phone.

The Prince William County police obtained arrest warrants for Sherri N. Boyd, 35, of the 8000 block of Samuel Wallis Street in Lorton, according to a police report. She’s wanted for robbery, assault with a caustic substance, grand larceny and assault and battery.

Boyd is described by police as a black woman, 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighing 220 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Minor injuries were reported in Thursday night’s assault, the police report said. Officers responded at 9:42 p.m. to a residence in the 3000 block of Chinkapin Oak Lane in Woodbridge to investigate the assault. The victim, 32, told them she was getting out of her car when she was approached by Boyd, an acquaintance.

A struggle ensued, as Boyd tried to pull the victim out of the vehicle and the victim tried to close the car door. Boyd then sprayed her in the face with pepper spray, struck the victim in the face and grabbed her cell phone from her hands, the police said. The two struggled some more before Boyd fled the scene.
