Police: Sketch Released in Rape Investigation in Woodbridge Area

Unknown man forced teen into woods in Dumfries late Saturday night, according to Prince William County Police.

Authorities are hoping that a sketch will help identify a suspect in a weekend rape in Dumfries, according to Prince William County Police.

The incident reportedly occurred around 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the area of Powell’s Creek Boulevard and Patrick Henry Drive.

The victim, 17, of Dumfries, told police she was walking home in the area when a man approached her. During the encounter, the man forced the victim into a nearby wooded area and raped her.

The victim reported the incident to a friend on Tuesday, according to police. The friend took the victim to an area hospital for treatment and police were contacted.

The suspect is described as a man, approximately 30 years old, 6’0”, 200 lbs with a medium build, medium complexion and short medium dark hair. He was last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweater.
