The Prince William County police are searching for a man in a stolen pickup truck who is accused of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl.

The suspect is Christopher Michael Statzer IV, 33, of no fixed address, according to a police report released Tuesday. He’s described as a white man, bald, 6 feet tall and weighing 150 pounds with a thin build and blue eyes. He’s wanted for aggravated sexual battery, object sexual penetration and unauthorized use of a vehicle, the police said.

Statzer is driving a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500, black in color with flames painted on the side and 22-inch chrome wheels, the police said. The pickup truck has Virginia license plates with the number XFD-5818.

The sexual assault allegedly took place early Sunday in Triangle, according to police. Detectives obtained warrants Sunday for Statzer’s arrest, but attempts “to locate this suspect have been unsuccessful,” the police said Tuesday.

The sexual assault allegations came to light at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, when officers responded to the 17400 block of Isle Royal Terrace in Dumfries to investigate the unauthorized use of the pickup truck. The caller told the police that Statzer, an acquaintance, had taken his Dodge Ram that morning without permission.

As police investigated the theft, “it was revealed that the accused sexually assaulted an 8-year-old girl, a known acquaintance,” the police report stated. The incident allegedly occurred at 1:30 a.m. Sunday while Statzer was staying at an address in the 18900 block of White Oak Drive in Triangle.
