WOODBRIDGE, VA — Pop-up coronavirus vaccine clinics come to Dumfries and Woodbridge on Thursday, April 1. The state-run clinics are designed to assist vulnerable populations in the area, according to a news release from the Prince William Health District.

The pop-up clinics will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday. The clinics are by appointment only, and officials said they are fully booked.

The Prince William Health District said that these pop-up clinics were established to help people of color, who have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19. According to data from the CDC, Latino residents are three times more likely to be hospitalized from the disease, and more than twice as likely to die of COVID-19. Compared to white residents, Black Americans are 2.9 times more likely to to be hospitalized and almost twice as likely to die from COVID-19.
