Powells Creek Cleanup Feb. 25 in Woodbridge: County

Near Dumfries, the creek's wooded area will be cleared of all kinds of debris, according to Prince William County officials.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A mass cleanup of a wooded area near Powells Creek is scheduled for 9 a.m. Feb. 25 near Riverwoods at Woodbridge Apartments, according to Prince William County.

Officials say tires, and bottles and possibly even shopping carts might be found — not to mention plastic cups, food containers, soccer balls and basketballs.

The public is invited to join members of the county's public works department, the trails and streams coalition and the soil & water conversation district.

Anyone who attends the cleanup should bring boots because of muddy conditions but all other material will be provided.
