The Prince William County Police Department is looking for hardy individuals or teams willing to brave cold temperatures on land and in the water – for a good cause.

The Polar Plunge for Special Olympics will be on Saturday, Feb. 28, at Tim’s Rivershore Restaurant & Crabhouse, 1510 Cherry Hill Road, in Dumfries.

Registration is now open and the public is invited to participate in a number of ways:

  • Actually take the “Plunge,” either as an individual or as a team that you can put together with friends, neighbors, family or co-workers.
  • Make a donation if crazy fun stunts are not your thing.
  • Come out and cheer everyone on!

There’ll be a fun beach party, a cool costume contest and an icy plunge into the Potomac River!
