Reward Offered In Fatal Pedestrian Hit-And-Run In Woodbridge

Prince William County Police continue to seek a vehicle after a pedestrian was fatally struck in Woodbridge.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A reward is being offered for information in the February hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian in the Woodbridge/Dale City area.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 23 in the area of Minnieville Road and Bobcat Court. Prince William County Police believe the pedestrian was struck while walking along the roadway and wearing dark clothing. She was pronounced dead by fire and rescue and was identified as Carla Andrea Mejia, 27, of Woodbridge. A fundraiser was started to support Mejia's two daughters.

The driver and vehicle involved have not been located. Police have found vehicle parts believed to be from a silver or light colored 2009-2012 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV or 2009-2013 Kia Sorento SUV, silver or light in color. The striking vehicle may have damage to the front end, wheel well or undercarriage areas of the vehicle.
