Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Prince William County

Flash flooding possible; Tropical Depression Bill is expected to bring heavy rainfall to Northern Virginia through weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm for Prince William County through 5:30 p.m. The warning also covers other parts of Northern Virginia, including Fairfax County.

A line of storms will bring torrential rainfall and hail, and flash flooding is possible, with winds in excess of 60 mph, the weater service warns.

In addition, the National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for most of Northern Virginia today (Thursday) through next Wednesday.

The Capital Weather Gang said the entire Washington region could see severe storms today (Thursday) between 4-9 p.m.

Showers and thunderstorms may contain heavy rainfall late Saturday into Sunday as the remnants of Tropical Depression Bill pass through the area, according to the weather service.
