Babylon Cafe's Live Entertainment Permit Suspended After Shooting

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Prince William County Police Chief Peter Newsham issued an order Friday suspending the live entertainment permit for the Babylon Cafe in Woodbridge following the shooting death of a Stafford man.

At 12:17 a.m. on Thursday, Prince William County police officers responded to a report of a shooting. When they arrived at the Babylon Cafe, they found Kalin Javon Robinson, a 25-year-old Stafford resident, suffering from a gunshot wound, according to a news release from the police department.

Officers provided first aid before rescue personnel arrived. Robinson was taken to an area hospital for treatment. He died of his injuries at the hospital, according to authorities.

The live entertainment permit for Baylon Cafe, located in the 3000 block of Golansky Boulevard in Woodbridge, was suspended "in response to the recent homicide and community safety concerns," the police department said Friday.

Police said a group of people were gathered outside the cafe when several gunshots were fired. Robinson was struck by multiple rounds, and the other people in the group left the area, police said.

No arrest has been made in the shooting, and detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit are looking to speak with anyone who may have more information about the incident. This is the second shooting at the Babylon Cafe this year.
