Snow Storm to Impact Woodbridge Area

Get the salt and shovels ready. A winter snowstorm headed for the Northeast could mean rain, ice and snow in the area this weekend.

Winter Storm Iola was named Wednesday afternoon after storm warnings were issued in the Southwest, according to the Weather Channel.

Most of the weekend snow — if any — is predicted to fall between Friday night and Saturday morning.

Here’s what you can expect in the Woodbridge area:

• Friday Night: A chance of rain and sleet before midnight, then rain and snow likely, possibly mixed with sleet. Cloudy, with a low around 31. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
• Saturday: Rain and snow likely, possibly mixed with sleet before 8am, then rain and snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 40. Northwest wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
• Saturday Night: A chance of rain and snow before 7pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 27. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
