Stabbing Reported During Woodbridge Robbery Attempt: Police

A pair of men tried to obtain money from a man in Woodbridge on Tuesday evening and stabbed him when he didn't comply, police said.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A man was stabbed on Tuesday evening in Woodbridge, according to a report from the Prince William County Police Department. Authorities believe the stabbing occurred during a robbery attempt.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the area of Mary’s Way and Kitty Hawk Way in Woodbridge. Police officers responded to the area on Thursday afternoon to investigate.

The victim, a 30-year-old man, told police that he was walking in the area when he was approached by two unknown men. They asked him for money, according to the police report.

The victim stated that he did not have any and continued walking. The two men followed him. At one point, one of the men stabbed the victim, police said.

Authorities said the victim escaped the area and eventually went to a nearby hospital to receive medical attention. The victim's injuries were not considered life-threatening, and the police department was contacted while the victim was at the hospital.

No property was reported missing, and no suspect description was available from the police department.
