Stafford Teen Arrested In Woodbridge Homicide Investigation: Police
A 16-year-old from Stafford County was arrested on Friday in connection with a fatal shooting in Woodbridge.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Authorities have identified the victim and a suspect from a fatal shooting reported in Woodbridge on Tuesday.
The victim, who died at an area hospital, was 18-year-old Jayson Lewis of Stafford County.
On Friday, police officers arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with the shooting. He is charged with murder, robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and shooting into an occupied vehicle.

The shooting occurred around 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning the 14100 block of Big Crest Lane in Woodbridge. Investigators said the victim and a "juvenile acquaintance" were in the area when someone shot the man in the upper body.

"After the shooting, the acquaintance contacted police to report his friend had been shot before disconnecting and leaving the area," the police department said in a report.
When police officers initially arrived in the area, they could not find the victim, his friend, or the shooter, authorities said. As officers investigated the shooting, the victim and his friend arrived at an area hospital.
A helicopter took the victim to a trauma center, where he died as a result of his injuries on Tuesday morning.
The police department reported that the shooting does not appear to be random, and detectives are still following up on potential leads.
