WOODBRIDGE, VA — A man tried to abduct an 18-year-old woman in Woodbridge on Friday, according to the Prince William County Police Department. Investigators believe the man had been stalking the victim for several months.

The victim reported minor injuries in the assault and abduction attempt.

Authorities described the suspect as a Hispanic man who is between 24 and 29 years old. He is about 5 feet, 9 inches tall with a thin build. He has curly black hair, brown eyes, and a scar on his left eyebrow.

Around 1:30 a.m. on Friday, the victim was walking on Colby Drive near Torrington Street in Woodbridge. She said she noticed a vehicle following her.

A man got out of the passenger side, grabbed the victim's arm, and tried to force her into the vehicle, according to the police report. The victim resisted and the would-be abductor hit her in the face.

The driver got out of the vehicle and intervened, which allowed the victim to escape.

Investigators learned that the suspect had been stalking the woman for several months, showing up wherever she went.
