Stranger Attempts to Lure Girl With Candy in Woodbridge: Police

Man in red car asks 10-year-old, "Do you want to come in my car? I have candy," according to Prince William County Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A 10-year-old girl walking home from school Wednesday says an unknown man tried to lure her into his red car with an offer of candy in the area of Ketterman Drive and Kerrydale Road near Kerrydale Elementary School, according to Prince William County Police.

The suspect is described as a white male with a medium build, curly hair and a full beard.

About 4 p.m., according to the girl, she was walking home when she was approached by a man driving a small red car who asked her: "Do you want to come in my car? I have candy."

She ran home and told family members, who notified school staff the next day.

A somewhat similar incident occurred Thursday morning in Stafford, and it also involved a red car.

In that one, a student walking to the bus stop told the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said a masked adult got out of a red car and gestured to her before she ran away to the safety of a neighbor's house.
