Suspect Shatters Glass Doors At 4 Stores In Dumfries's Southbridge Plaza: Police

Police in Prince William County are looking for a suspect who shattered the glass front doors at four businesses in Dumfries on Friday.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Police are looking for a man who broke into the Skrimp Shack in Dumfries on Friday morning. The suspect also tried to enter three other businesses in the Southbridge Plaza shopping center.

Officers responded to the shopping center around 6 a.m. on Friday morning. A burglar activated an alarm at the Skrimp Shack, police said.

When they arrived at the scene, officers noticed that the restaurant's front door was damaged. They determined that a suspect used a rock to shatter the glass front door and enter the business. Inside, he grabbed a cash box before leaving the scene, according to the police report.

A police K-9 searched the area for the suspect, but they did not locate him.

During their investigation, officers noticed that the front glass was shattered at three other businesses in the shopping center. Authorities believe the suspect tried to enter Wings Way, Amazing Grace Salon & Barber, and Queenly Nails.

Police described the suspect as a light-skinned Black man with a slim build. At the time of the burglary, he was wearing a black face mask, a grey hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black sneakers. He is between 5 feet, 10 inches and 6 feet tall, police said.
