Suspected Gang Member Identified in Dumfries Robbery: Police

Prince William County Police's gang unit obtained arrest warrants; another suspect turned himself in for the assault and abduction incident.

DUMFRIES, VA — A second suspected gang member has been identified in an Aug. 18 incident during which two men allegedly beat and robbed a Dumfries man in the 18000 block of Fraley Boulevard before trying to get him to give them cash from an ATM, according to Prince William County Police.

Warrants have been issued for Raymond Laird Davis, 22, of no fixed address. Described as black, 6-1 and 160 pounds, he's wanted for abduction, robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

The other suspect, Darius Lamont Davis, 21, of the 18300 block of Chestnut Point in Triangle, turned himself in to police Sept. 11.

Police say shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 18, they responded to the 18000 block of Fraley Boulevard in Dumfries to investigate a robbery.

The victim, a 42-year-old Dumfries man, told police he was walking in the area of White Haven Drive and Main Street when two acquaintances appeared, punched him in the face, took his cell phone and then, at gunpoint, took him to a nearby business that had an ATM.

But a Dumfries cop on routine patrol entered the business and the suspects fled, after which the victim alerted the officer to what had happened.

Detectives from the Gang Unit later identified one of the suspects as Darius Davis.

He's being held without bond.
