DUMFRIES, VA — A swimmer died at Montclair's Dolphin Beach on Saturday, according to the Prince William County Police Department.

Authorities identified the deceased man as 38-year-old Benjamin Alexander Segura Artiga from Lorton.

The police department has not determined an exact cause of death, but Segura Artiga's body was taken to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy. Authorities said they do not suspect foul play in connection with his death.

Police officers arrived at Dolphin Beach around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. They received a report for a missing swimmer.

Officers determined that Segura Artiga was swimming with two acquaintances. At one point, he tried to climb the dock's ladder and suddenly went under the water, according to the police report.

Lifeguards and his acquaintances tried to find Segura Artiga, but they were unsuccessful. Members of the police department's Marine Unit arrived and found him later in the evening, authorities said.

Rescue personnel on the scene declared that Segura Artiga was dead after police pulled him from the water.

First responders took Segura Artiga's body to the office of the medical examiner. The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy and determine a cause of death, the police department said.
