Teen Who Tripped 12-Year-Old, Tried To Rob Him Arrested: Police
The 14-year-old boy from Woodbridge is being held at the Prince William Juvenile Detention Center for attempted robbery.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A 14-year-old Woodbridge boy was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly attempted to rob a 12-year-old and fought back when officers tried to take him into custody. The boy is currently being held at the Prince William Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of attempted robbery.
According to police, the victim was walking with a sibling in the 3700 block of Chico Court when he was approached by the suspect. The suspect then tripped and hit the victim before removing one of his shoes, police said. Eventually, the suspect threw the shoe back to the victim and fled on foot. The victim suffered minor injuries.
Police later located the suspect at his home and attempted to take him into custody, but the suspect refused to follow commands and actively resisted arrest, police said. After a brief struggle, the suspect was taken into custody.

According to police, the suspect was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained during his arrest.
