Teens Shot After Football Game At Freedom High In Woodbridge

Prince William County police are offering up to a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the shooting of the two teens.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Two teens were shot in the parking lot at Freedom High School in Woodbridge Friday night after the school’s first football game of the season, according to the Prince William County Police Department.

Soon after 9 p.m., police officers responded to the shooting at Freedom High School at 15201 Neabsco Mills Rd. Gunshots were fired in the parking lot at the school following the football game against Brooke Point High School of Stafford County, which ended early due to rain.

Two victims were found, a 15-year-old male juvenile who was shot in the lower body, and a 14-year-old female juvenile who was grazed in the foot, according to the police.

Officers used department-issued trauma kits to treat the male victim at the scene. His injuries are not considered life-threatening. Both teens were taken to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

Colgan High School Principal Timothy Healey on Saturday reported that both victims are students at the Dumfries high school, according to InsideNoVA.

The county police department is offering up to a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case.

The police department said the scene was quickly contained as officers were already present at the school for security. A meeting point was established at Northern Virginia Community College-Woodbridge Campus for families to reunite as the police searched for the shooter.

The shooter has not been identified at this time and no motive has been determined, the police said. Officers recovered shell casings from the scene.

The Virginia State Police assisted with the response to the high school shooting, the county police department said.

By 10:50 p.m. Friday, the high school had been cleared of attendees.
